My name is Hugh Conyers, I am 48 years young and I live at "Berwyn" in Paget, Bermuda.
In 1976 I became interested in photography through my dearest friend, Mrs. Isabelle Faiella. She had some lovely photos of roses, orchids and other flowers in different depths of fields. No sooner had she explained the workings of her 35 mm SLR to me than I was shooting with my first brand new black-bodied FT2 Nikkormat.
I enjoy photgraphing all types of color formats, it is always challenging to capture the "perfect" great shot. And when you do, there is no greater feeling. It is very special and very personal to me. I have also learned that so long as I like my work, that is what matters the most. It's not important to me what others think. It took me some time to be comfortable with this issue. However, it is just as rewarding when someone does like your work, the connection has been made and that truly is what it's all about.
My wife and I have been fortunate to travel to different countries, allowing me to broaden my photographic scopes. At this present time I own a Nikon N8008, with a 24-120mm zoom Nikkor lens. With all the gadgets that this camera has to offer, I still shoot in manual mode only! (Post Nikkormat syndrome disorder)
