What We Do
The PPA BDA assists full-time photographers and videographers in Bermuda to maintain a high standard of photographic & business practice.
The PPA BDA assists Members regarding Social Insurance, Pay Roll Tax, Private Pension(s), Health Insurance, and Gear Insurance.
The PPA BDA provides assistance with marketing Bermuda’s professional photographers and videographers to potential clients. This may include PPA BDA Photographers and Videographers capturing the images/media and/or advertising their Production Services.
The PPA BDA helps to promote educational opportunities related to photography and videography in Bermuda
The PPA BDA hosts Annual Photography Compititions for professionals, hobbyists, and students of photography
Council Members aim to work with Bermuda’s Department of Immigration regarding Work Permits for those not living and working in Bermuda.
This would include but is not limited to providing photographic knowledge and guidance regarding specific work permit applications.
We follow the guidelines set out on Bermuda Government Website by the Department of Immigration: https://www.gov.bm/job-categories-work-permits
The PPA BDA is not responsible for laws set forth - or any changes to those laws - by the Department of Immigration.
Council Members aim to ensure a local photographers and/or videographers are hired alongside any accepted Work Permit holders for private events and weddings.
Our Council Members also consult with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation regarding small business opprotunties.
On an ad hoc basis, we also work to assist other vendors - who work in fields outside the world of photography/videography - within the event and wedding industry in Bermuda. For example: hair artists, make-up artists, planners, decor rentals, etc.
